Sports Travel Tours (Europe) Ltd

Quayside Tower,, 252-260 Broad St, Birmingham B1 2HF, UK – 0121 288 7305

I am a passionate NFL fan, my wife is not. It is my goal to attend games at as many of the NFL teams stadiums as i can. Through Sports Travel Tours we have been able to find a unique balance on our NFL trips to America where we are both happy with our itinerary. Dont let the name fool you, as excellent as they are at the sporting side, they have also arranged trips to a Louisiana Swamp , Quad Bike Riding ,a longhorn cattle drive and a rodeo amongst other trips for us.This allows us to strike a nice balance for my wife and is a great contrast to the NFL. I first used the company for Super Bowl 47 and i was so impressed we have been back to the states a further 3 times since with them. We have also done a couple of multi city sporting tours with the company, including one where we travelled by train. Again this provides a nice contrast from the traditional visit and stay in one city vacation. The NFL games we have attended have always had excellent seats, as soon as the NFL fixtures are released i will call Andrew and have a chat about where we are thinking of going, we go over a number of locations and method of transport and then over a period of a few weeks i will decide on a location and Andrew will give me a price. If you are going to use Sports Travel Tours, give Andrew a call as your starting point, it is time well spent! In addition to the NFL, Sports Travel Tours have also arranged NHL and NBA fixtures for us, again we have always had excellent seats and sound advice for enjoying the full sporting experience. To give you some idea of our experience with Sports Travel Tours, we have seen the following sporting teams at home, plus Super Bowl 47! NFL -Dallas, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Oakland, San Francisco, San Diego. NHL - Dallas, Washington NBA- Dallas, Golden State We would have done more NHL/NBA but we are restricted by my wife's holiday periods as to when we can get away. We cannot speak highly enough of Andrew Hill and Sports Travel Tours, i am already looking forward to the release of the NFL fixtures in April and making those calls to sort out this years trip. Since posting this i have had another US Sports trip with the company. We saw Chicago Bears,Bulls & Blackhawks as well as a tour of Soldier Field, then took a train to Minneapolis where we saw Vikings and Wild, as well as a tour of the brand new US Bank Stadium. The personal knowledge Andrew provided was once again spot on and we had an amazing trip, we even saw the Bears win on my birthday!

We have used Sports Travel Tours on several occasions to go to NFL games and have had an excellent time on each occasion. Their expert knowledge has made the holidays go smoothly, and they have tailored the holidays to our requests every time. Their experience has proved invaluable - we were persuaded to stay in a hotel not in the centre of Chicago, but nearer the stadium, and were very grateful as we then did not have to wait for a bus after the game on a very very cold January Monday night, but could take a short walk back to our hotel. We have had a couple of problems, not of their making (one involving a hurricane!), and they have sorted them efficiently and quickly and made sure we got to the games. We are very fussy about who we use for our holidays, but we keep going back to Sports Travel Tours because they have always served us well and we have had many brilliant real NFL experiences because of them.

Birmingham Back to Back

50-54 Inge St, Birmingham B5 4TE, UK – 0121 666 7671

Excellent tour for those who like social history. Our guide made the families who lived there very real. Tour goes over three houses and different era s and lifestyles. There are several flights of steep narrow stairs to negotiate. Don't attempt of you have mobility issues. Booking is also essential but we got in with only two days notice. Thoroughly recommended.

Really interesting place to visit if you like vintage, retro and historical places. Visit the houses of bygone decades and see how the people of Birmingham lived. Step back in time. Our guide Eric was fantastic. Tour lasted 1.45hr for £9. Well worth it. Some flights of stairs. Easy to find. City centre location. Book ahead.

What a great way to spent you holiday or just a day out. A tour of a hour on the water with good explanation. We recommend it to everyone.

I could see this place from the flat in liberty place. Probably prettier in the summer.

Away2canal

The Waters Edge, Birmingham, Brindleyplace B1 2JB, UK – 0121 647 7151

I went there in late December, night time. In my opinion, there's nothing special about the canal. And the restaurants there were kinda pricey. So we only stop by for a good 30 minutes and go to other places instead.

Loved it. Awesome. Relaxing. Enjoyable

Bosworth Cruises

The waters Edge, Brindley Place, Birmingham B1 2JB, UK – 07999 555041

You seriously won't find a more accommodating and friendly team than the guys at Bosworth cruises! The boat is fantastic, perfect for private parties. We were able to hook our music up the boats speakers and play it as loud as we liked, it is also a "bring your own booze" set up so we could take on any drinks we wanted and set them up in the bar area. The route we were taken on was lovely, and it was amazing watching the sun set as we danced for a few hours on the boat. We initially hired the boat for 2 hours and when we asked if it was possible to tag an extra hour onto the end of it the guys were happy to extend the party for us! We were also able to come aboard an hour earlier to decorate the boat and set everything up. I can't recommend this company enough, I will definitely book with them again. You wont be disappointed if you use this company. Thanks for a great night!

Great experience and experimented staff. Very good storyteller and information sharing. A walk on the Birmingham history path, or better said ”canal”. Should be on everyone's list "to do" in Birmingham. Thanks Bosworth Cruises. Only Cool Stuff!

Local Parks & Gardens

Aston Park

Trinity Rd, Aston, Birmingham B6 6JD, UK – 0121 675 4746

It's definitely a cool park if you want to take pictures. Apart from that it's not such a beauty. But if you have e a sunny day and want some stunning photos Aston hall it's perfect. It's close to villa ground and it's quiet a good reference point in Birmingham

This magnificent park forms an idyllic setting for a Jacobean mansion, Aston Hall. The park provides a backdrop of mature trees and shrubs, sweeping avenues and constantly changing planting schemes. Aston Hall and park sit in the heart of Aston ward and are a focal point for community events, from Aston Pride to a mini Olympics for local school children. Today's park is a remnant of Aston Hall's 934-acre deer park and forms the key formal areas surrounding the house. Many of the features visible in the park today have been created as part of the park improvements by the civic society in the 1930s. Due to the park's importance in the city and country, the gardens have been registered on the Historic Parks Register
