Kingsway Project is a small voluntary organisation, with strong evidence of effectively working with Youths, Women’s groups and Seniors successfully by conducting community events and consultations. The Project also has a facilitating role, liaising, co-ordinating, consulting, training and promoting shared activities to ensure that local people have a say in housing, community safety, leisure, play services, social care and health provision.
Our aim is to enhance cohesion, and empower the community to be active citizens.
The ethos of Kingsway Project is to work strategically and collaboratively with stakeholders such as: statutory agencies, faith groups, local businesses, community groups and residents to bring about change for the Neighbourhood, especially in the Handsworth, Lozells and Newtown area.
The project has substantial experience of organising community based events locally. They include youth schemes, an annual International Women’s Event, various workshops on self esteem, confidence building, money management and healthy living. It also includes community consultations around the regeneration of the Lozells area as well as supporting groups to organise Neighbourhood Forums, public meetings, and other events.
Kingsway Project works closely with a wide range of local partners (Police, Fire service, Midland Heart, NHS, community groups, ward support officers, neighbourhood managers, etc) to make the changes that are vital for the area.
The Project aims to be inclusive, advocating change for the neighbourhood and encouraging better participation and support from local people and community groups for equality and diversity.
