TSB Bank

22a Great Hampton St, Birmingham B18 6AH, UK – 0121 307 9986

Unlike the nightmarish branch on New Street, this branchmake the process of banking so much more relaxing, probably because it's located in Jewelry Quarter and have very friendly staffs. Ash, the manager came over to help setting up a joint account and he made the whole experience so much less stressful. Would definitely recommend banking at this particular branch.

Great service! Very polite and courteous with our visit.

Local Chambers of Commerce for B19 3TG. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Birmingham Town Hall

Victoria Square, Birmingham B3 3DQ, UK – 0121 780 3333

Great place for variety and music selection. Bar is downstairs, acoustics are great. Price of beer is a little high but that's music venues in central Birmingham.

The first of the monumental town halls that would come to characterise the cities of Victorian England, Birmingham Town Hall was also the first significant work of the 19th-century revival of Roman architecture, a style chosen here in the context of the highly charged radicalism of 1830s Birmingham for its republican associations. The design was based on the proportions of the Temple of Castor and Pollux in the Roman Forum. "Perfect and aloof" on a tall, rusticated podium, it marked an entirely new concept in English architecture. It was created as a home for the Birmingham Triennial Music Festival established in 1784, the purpose of which was to raise funds for the General Hospital, after St Philip's Church (later to become a Cathedral) became too small to hold the festival, and for public meetings. The hall underwent a major renovation between 2002 and 2008. It now hosts a diverse programme of events including jazz, world, folk, rock, pop and classical concerts, organ recitals, spoken word, dance, family, educational and community performances, as well as annual general meetings, product launches, conferences, dinners, fashion shows, graduation ceremonies and broadcasts.

Dental Surgeries

Academy of Birmingham Cosmetic and General Dentistry

12 Waterloo St, Birmingham B2 5TB, UK – 0121 633 8833

Friendly, easy going yet professional service. I can highly recommend the services at ABC Dentistry. Very good value for money. Despite I am moving to the Netherlands I will be back for the recommended check up for sure! Thank you!

My sister and I came here as we both decided after Christmas that we would do something about our teeth. We are both ex-smokers and you could tell looking at our teeth. After a few treatments here we both are so thrilled with how our teeth now look. Very welcoming clinic, easy going and offer really good treatments.

Bordsley Village

14 Towpath Cl, Birmingham B9 4QA, UK – 0121 753 2929

An amazing practice. Was suffering from severe tooth pain, the practice booked me in last minute and I underwent a pain free extraction which allieveiated my pain instantaneously. I have upmost respect for Dr Khan, and his staff - especially his receptionist who fitted me in just before closing. Thank you.

Very professional and humble is Dr Hassan.

Will Murphy Dentistry

51 Newhall St, Birmingham B3 3QR, UK – 0121 236 7630

I have been with Will for over 20 years, in fact since he took over the practice when it was upstairs in the building. I soon had my first two implants and now have nine. I have always been treated in a friendly and yet professional manner and believe that Will has always done his best to sort out my problems. He puts a lot of thought into planning his work, using the best materials. I would never dream of going abroad to have implants. The process isn’t as quick and easy as people think! Having a good set of teeth is the best way to stay looking as young as possible. Long may Will and his team be able to help his customers achieve this. I cannot thank Will enough!

Exemplary service and staff. I could write a page on how fantastic the Practice really is. They always help, are always on the end of a phone and always ensure I get an appointment. Another plus is the surgery environment is relaxed and calming. On one visit I remember watching TV whilst undergoing 2 dental implants at the same time. They have me as a patient for life!

Small Heath Medical Practice

2 Great Wood Rd, Birmingham B10 9QE, UK – 0121 766 8828

I would agree with other reviewers about the doctors being respectful and attentive to the needs of patients. Dr Sweeney is by far the best doctor here , in my opinion. They do have a habit now of getting things wrong- my prescription was sent to a pharmacy for no reason at all without my instruction or consent. Compounding matters even further, the wrong items were issued so i had to go back to the surgery. Such errors are tremendously inconvenient and have been occuring with a disturbing frequency. Occasionally receptionists can be a little rude but as its not an endemic problem i just put it down to a bad day, they do have to contend with a whole array of different patients from the pleasant to the pugnacious.

Always been a first rate medical centre with innovative ideas. Can't recall a situation that warranted a complaint. I've been under their care over 45 years!

Our daughter has been under the cardiac team since she was a few weeks old back in 2001. We are so grateful to all the staff at this wonderful hospital - we are under no doubt without their wonderful care she wouldn't be here now. Leah has had several open heart surgeries - where we were told every step of the way what would be happening next. We have also had whole family support especially from Helen the play specialist!! We often talk about the fun times we had at this hospital - rather than the awful stressful time we could remember. The staff here are second to none and we are very sad to now leave to be transferred to the adult QE hospital.

After 17 years of being a patient at Birmingham Children's Hospital, I look back and there has never been a time where I have not wanted to go return. The staff on all wards and units are wonderful and take huge amounts of consideration into the lives and conditions of vulnerable patients, families and siblings who come and visit. I was hugely fortunate that I have had my Heart Doctor for 17 years and he has been incredible. He has not just taken thought to me but to my whole family too. He has always asked after us and been 100% loyal to his job. I give huge thanks to Ward 11 and ITU where I spent most of my 2 continuous years as an in-patient between birth (2000) and leaving as a permanent patient (2002). All staff were amazing and even now, I still see some of those life-saving heros who ensured I was here today which makes me so lucky to be as I am today, 17 years later. Now, as a volunteer at BCH, I couldn't be more proud to be a member and patient of the Hospital. The rest, as they say, is history. To now see it from a different point of view, I can see the exact reason why people want their children and families to be looked after there. Thank you, Birmingham Children's Hospital. Here's to another great 150 years!

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Bill's Birmingham Restaurant

Bullring Shopping Centre, Bullring, Birmingham B5 4BE, UK – 0121 643 7125

Just picked up an amazing takeaway burger from Bills in the Bullring. Super amazing and friendly staff- the front of house delivered as well as the kitchen. Tasty food worth the price paid.

Food was very nice and fresh and the lunch menu was very good value albeit the portion sizes were a bit small and we were still hungry afterwards. Desserts were beautiful especially the pancakes. We waited to be seated which was to be expected however there were lots of free tables we could see on the balcony so not sure why. When seated the table was not clean and hadn't been wiped down. We ordered drinks and waited almost 20 minutes for them!!! Staff were friendly but service was extremely slow. It got to the point where we had to ask for our bill before dessert came to ensure we left in a timely fashion. Overall decent food, decent value but could do with bigger portions, friendly staff but very slow service. Would I rush back, probably not.

66 New Street, Birmingham B2 4EU, UK – 0121 516 3800

Really nice place for a family meal. This was the first occupant of a new retail unit and they have really done and good job with the interior. The staff are really nice, even with our kids and that's saying a lot. Food was good - not amazing but good. And the kids menu seemed to do the job. Well worth a visit.

Had a really nice meal. Food was pretty good. Two waitresses were so nice and polite. We arrived at 22.30 on Sunday evening but both waitresses were very accommodating and so nice.... Thank you girls for a pleasant evening.

Edgbaston Kindergarten

413-415 Gillott Rd, Birmingham B16 9LL, UK – 0121 455 0883

Really wonderful setting. I knew when I first visited to inspect the place and all the older children rushed out of their room to see who I was and ask me questions about my baby that it was right for us. Then I saw a kindergartener be tasked with independently taking an item to another member of staff in a different room, and I was even more sure. The staff here really get to know your kid and how they tick, and they thrive as a result. It's the Montessori way. There's rarely any crying, the kids are always happy and appropriately challenged. Both my kids started at 12 months and left aged 4, picked up their alphabet and numbers quickly and generally loved their time here. It really felt like an extension of the family. They were very supportive of my parenting choices - baby signing, breastfeeding, washable nappies and daytime naps even for 4yr olds, and the kids were happy and secure as a result. My kids still ask to go back to visit, a year later!
